Welcome back to Testimony Tuesday! Today I am switching things up a little bit and sharing a story of my own. I hope it blesses you and reminds you that God is always in control, no matter what!

I recently finished a class on Orality - The Power of Story. In this class, we learned how to share the gospel in the form of storying. For one of our assignments, we had to choose a "faith story" to share with the class. In other words, we had to choose a moment from our own lives that increased our faith in God - a moment that taught us more about who God is. The faith story I chose to use for this assignment was something that happened to me almost five years ago. Some of yall may have already heard this story that I am about to share, but it is something I felt like sharing with yall again today.
It was the beginning of August. My family and I were in a town about 45 minutes away from home, attending a local camp meeting that we attend every year. As the last service for the week came to a close, I left to go home, and my parents were not far behind in their own vehicles. It was already dark outside, and the ground was wet from where it had been raining most of the week.
I had made it about halfway home when all of a sudden, a burst of light appeared in front of me as I was driving, and at almost the same time something crashed down upon my windshield cracking it from top to bottom. There were so many cracks I could no longer see clearly to drive. I rolled down the side window of my door and stuck my head out in an attempt to see where I was going. I knew I had to get off the road, and so I drove about half a mile to where I felt I could pull over safely.
As soon as I pulled over, I called my mom, who was behind me, and told her what had happened. She informed me that a tree had fallen (part of which was what had hit my car) and that she would have to detour around it. She then called 911 to inform them of what had happened, and they soon arrived on the scene. Because of the damage to the side of my car, I had to crawl out through the passenger side of my car. Although I was quite shaken up from the experience and my car was totaled, I realized just how much I had to be thankful for.
Later, as I thought back on the events of that night, I realized how close I could have come to dying that night. If I had of been driving through there a few seconds sooner, I could have been crushed under the whole weight of that tree, but thanks to God's mercy and protection, I made it out with only a few minor scratches from the glass! God truly is in control of everything that happens in our lives, whether we fully understand it or not.
